The following definitions and examples are provided to establish a common understanding of the EE resource types used in this searchable database. All resources included in the database should relate to environmental education (EE). It may be appropriate for a resource to be listed as a single resource type or as multiple types.

After School Programs
Youth programs designed to take place on weekdays during the school year and after regular school hours. Parents do not typically attend these programs with their children/students.
- Club with meetings that take place at school such as 4-H, Junior Master Gardeners, etc.
- An enrichment program offered at a local EE organization’s location(s)
Camps
Youth “camp” programs offered over a series of days. Chaperones or parents do not typically attend these programs with their children.

Citizen Science Resources
Any programs that involve citizens in monitoring, reporting observations, collecting data, etc. to be used by scientific researchers in answering real-world questions.
